Eyeball Nails

Lately, I've been on a kind of eyeball kick. I've been making eyeball key chains, bags, whatever I can can think of and plausibly do. Last year, I experimented with nail art a lot, and one of the coolest things I did were eyeball nails for October. I thought I'd bring that back, since I've been into eyeballs a lot this month, and unfortunately, they don't look as good as I did them last year, but here are some step-by-step pictures anyway. If you've got a steady hand, or a friend who's willing to help you, they would probably turn out much better than mine did!

You'll need black, white, and red or pink nail polish, along with whatever colors you want the irises to be (I used brown, green, and blue). An old fine point paintbrush or two are really useful, or even a toothpick would work fine. And a clear coat (one that is much better than mine, because it smudged everything).
Start with a solid black base coat.

Add some various white circles (or whatever shapes these are).
Inside the white dots, add your chosen iris color.
Take the black and make a pupil on top of each of the irises. Then, using a small brush, take the red/pink and carefully paint little lines at the edges of some parts of the white dots, and trail them off into something that resembles an optic nerve!

Add your clear topcoat when everything is as dry as a bone, and enjoy! Post a picture if you like, because mine are really terrible examples (no, really, anything would be better than my badly smudged and rushed example pictures).
